Finance and Accounting Analyst
Position Summary
The Finance and Accounting Analyst supports daily financial operations, including accounts payable, journal entries, and reconciliations. This position ensures accurate financial recordkeeping, timely processing of transactions, and provides analytical support for cost tracking and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Finance and Accounting:
- Prepare and post journal entries including payroll, accruals, and adjustments.
- Maintain prepaid expense schedules and assist with month-end close processes.
- Obtain and process high-volume accounts payable invoices, including coding and entry into ERP systems.
- Maintain and update vendor records.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain AR Aging and address overdue receivables.
- Process broker commissions.
- Maintain and update freight tracking files as data becomes available and perform monthly cost calculations.
- Maintain bank account, AR and AP reconciliation processes.
- Maintain cost tracking files including freight, labor, and utilities.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Assist in outlining and preparing periodic reports for various departments (sales, inventory, finance).
- Support the team in conducting basic data analysis and identifying trends, discrepancies, or anomalies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline reporting processes and data collection efforts.
- Prepare audit documentation and assist with compliance reporting.
- Upload and maintain documentation within the ERP system.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 1–3+ years of accounting or finance experience.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Experience with accounting and payroll systems preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-departmentally and maintain a team-oriented attitude.
