Do I have to stir the natural peanut butter?
Our Teddie Natural Peanut Butters contain 100% peanuts and a pinch of salt. We do not add oils, sweeteners, or stabilizers to hide the natural goodness of our peanut butter. Oil Separation is natural since Teddie Natural Peanut Butter has no added stabilizers or oils. Make sure to stir the jar all the way to the bottom each time before use to ensure the proper consistency throughout the use of the jar. Note that because they are natural, there is some variability among peanuts.
We’d love to hear how YOU stir YOUR Teddie. Let us know!

Do I have to refrigerate?
Teddie All Natural Peanut Butter does not need to be refrigerated. Many of our customers do refrigerate our All Natural Peanut Butter to slow down the oil separation process. You can stir the peanut butter all the way to the bottom of the jar and then place it in the refrigerator. This is optional, and you can also leave the Peanut Butter out of the fridge.

Who is Teddie?
Back in the 1930’s when Teddie peanut butter was being developed, we wanted to create a brand name for this great peanut butter. During this same period, peanut butter was viewed as an affordable source of protein among the hard times of the Great Depression, so a fun and exciting name was a necessity. At that time, the company’s General Manager, John Leavitt, had a son named Teddie, which aligned perfectly with a warm-hearted Teddie bear logo. The rest is history from there!
